My sassy sallys are happy grains (and growing). It takes practice getting things right..size, temp etc. I have had lotsa funk, glasses of whey, unplanned yogurt imposters along with the perfect batches!
Took a fe days to get activated but now my kefir is up and going. Would purchase again.
I am really happy with my purchase. The grains arrived quickly and I was pleased with how healthy and plump they were. I had purchased some from another company and after 11 days they were still not producing kefir. The grains from Mountain Kefir started working right away and within two days were producing bubbly tangy delicious kefir. From a small amount, after less than a month I now have more grains than I can use and will need to gift some to friends and family. I highly recommend this company if you are looking healthy and very prolific kefir grains!
I chose to go with faster shipping since I ordered in the heat of the summer. Arrived as expected. The grains were ready to produce normally after only 2 rounds of the "activation" process advised in the instructions. It is very active, I thought it would take a while for the grains to grow enough to make 4 cups a day, it did not! It's only been a month and I had to remove a good bit of grains for my 1L kefir in 12hrs. We keep the house cool (not cold) during summer but the process will slow down a bit as we move into Fall.
