Bad timing I’m afraid. I received the kefir grains but had to go away for a month due to a death in the family. I put them in a litre of whole milk and hoped for the best. When I did get home and settled I took the mixture from the fridge with plans to start over. May I created a monster for 4g of kefir grains turned into something the size of my fist. I didn’t know if this was kefir curd or spoiled milk. Though it didn’t smell sour. Anyway, I had to err on the side of caution and discard the batch. I will order again when the time allows. I gave three stars because I didn’t want to give one and I couldn’t give five and I had to give some to leave this review.
The grains came in a reasonable amount of time. Following the directions thst came with them, I put them in milk to activate them. It worked! And they grow! The kefir is great and I’m now looking at making cheese with it since I’m making so much. I highly recommend this product if you are interested in making kefir.
