A simple kit that contains our favourite tools for making milk kefir! We prefer the Weck Tulip Jar with its wide base that doesn't crowd your grains, as well as these unbleached paper toppers for keeping dust and other kitchen debris out. And, of course, the wooden spoon!
While one of the perks of kefir is that it can easily be made with simple tools found in most kitchens, the starter kit is perfect for those whose jars already have jobs and who want to get started as soon as their grains arrive!
Each starter kit includes:
- Mountain Kefir Organic Grains - Medium Packet (8g)
- A Weck 745 Tulip Jar* (see dimensions below)
- 10-pack unbleached paper toppers (6x6")
- A wooden spoon
- Easy instructions and recipes to get you started!
Once your starter kit arrives, the only other things that you will need to have on hand is a fine mesh strainer or colander and elastic band.

I have been milking a cow for a long time now and made kefir in the past. These grains are working very well for me and I like them. Excellent. I could do without the jar though, as I do not like the lid action.
I only heard about kefir recently, so thought to give it a try. The starter kit has helped to reduce the fears, as the instructions were very helpful and so far the kefir has been great.
